Training Plan Manager Training Plan Manager

Training Plan Manager allows you automate your training, giving you the ability to build a structured training agenda that guides users through the right sequence of courses, tests, surveys, documents and on-the-job training.

View Training Plan Manager Demo Movie AutomateAutomated Training - Training Plan Manager (TPM) can automatically assign training plans to users based on their group affiliation, time on the job, or other parameters you specify, with due dates, expirations and keep-alive dates. For example, you may want to have all new-hires take a certain group of HR policy and safety courses on their first day of work. With TPM, you first build a training plan for new-hires and specify the HR and safety courses needed to fulfill your requirements. Your plan may intermingle exams, surveys, related documents. Then, TPM handles the task of knowing who your new-hires are, and automatically sends them your training plan their first day on the job.

ObserveAlways Watching - TPM continuously works in the background checking the status of all users for changes in job status, promotions, new-hires, and so forth, and automatically sends appropriate training plans based on your specifications. For example, if a certain job promotion requires new safety training in order to handle new responsibilities, TPM sends the required courses to everyone newly promoted into that position.

ModulesModules - Training Plan Manager provides the following capabilities:
  • Programmatic PUSH of content to HRIS defined demographic groups.
  • Includes Users & Groups functionality, which allows you to set or restrict StarCast viewing rights and other functions by demographic category such as territory, product, or business unit. Users & Groups lets you to upload twenty-three demographic fields to StarCast with up to seven of the fields being user-definable to company-familiar terms. The primary StarCast functions enhanced by Users & Groups are Internal and External Portals, Portal-Pushes, Content-Library viewing rights, and Reports. More U&G
  • TPM allows you to develop training plans, which may include any combination of courses, tests, documents or surveys, and programmatically PUSH the content to specified demographic groups across your organization with due dates, expirations and keep-alive dates.
  • The ability to PUSH critical-documents to a target audience with due dates for download.
  • Training plans may be set to "enforced-order". This allows you to, for example, specify the minimum passing score that a user must achieve before being allowed to proceed to the next element in a training plan.
  • Certificates may be attached to individual elements of a training plan or to the entire plan.
  • Training plans may be sent to a single demographic group or to the addition or intersection of multiple demographic groups.
  • Training Plans may be set to exclude people hired before a certain date, which allows for "grandfathering" of training content.
  • TPM provides a separate e-mail module that allows for scheduled notifications, message templates, and a permanent log of all "sent-to" notifications.
  • TPM provides a separate Manager-Portal that allows real-time monitoring of direct reports. Managers are shown the training-plans that have been assigned to each of their direct-reports (one level down) and the status of each direct report on plans and individual elements in the plan such as in-progress, completed, test scores, and so forth.
  • TPM allows you to incorporate "non-StarCast" and ad hoc training such as OJT, off-site seminars, classroom sessions and meetings.
  • TPM provides a global dashboard showing all "current" training plans, "all" plans and "your" plans with information on release dates, closing dates, authorship, and more.
  • TPM provides a transaction log showing all modifications made to a training plan over its lifetime such as courses added or removed, demogs added or removed, change date, change author and more.
  • TPM has its own status reports that allow analysis by training plan, by demographic, and by individual, which makes quick work of figuring out who’s on target and who is lagging behind.
  • TPM provides for manager-exception-reporting; knowing who has completed assigned training and who has NOT, as well as in-progress status reporting.
  • TPM reports are directly exportable to Excel.
  • Training Plan activity reports may be set to run automatically on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule (chron). Chron reports may be automatically sent to individuals on a subscription list and chron reports are archived permanently in StarCast.
  • Subscription reports are made visible on a special message-center portal tab.
  • Administrators may develop unique report templates that may be used repeatedly.
